Luke Larkin - Woodland

Statement of Intent - Woodland

 

For this project I have chose to focus on woodland and more specifially people living with nature. I will be looking at artists such as Kevin Russ, Kyle Thompson and Caitlin Molton. These artists like to focus on landscape and woodlands as well as incorperating portraits into the photos. I will like to add fire to my images as they are a key feature to surviving in nature and it adds warmth to the image. I have used pintrest and flickr to gather images and ideas, this also helped me to find artists. The reason I first chose to work with fire is because I believe it can photography really well and if you get it at the right time it can look really good. I was first inspired to work with fire in my images after seeing ficker shots of lighters. As well as fire that people have created when camping. Originally I planned to also focus on flicker and try and incorperate the two into my project by taking pictures of fire in the woods. I decided against this after trying out my first flicker shoot and realising I would rather focus on protraits in the woods rather than purely focusing on fire.
