Caitlin Molton

Caitlin Molton is an American  photographer who took some surreal photos in the woods using a lot of lens flairs and different colour. When doing this shoot I will have to use make sure that the sun is out so I can have it reflect off the lens. In my attemp at these photo I plan to try and use film to I can try and burn the images over eachother to create a surreal effect. I will also be using a model in my photo and have them pose in a similar way. I beleive this works with my project because if I take my images in some woods then it could fit with people living with nature.

I like the lens flairs used on this image because I feel like they add a warm feeling to the image without having to do a lot of editing. Though I will have to get very lucky to get a lens flair like this casually. If I cannot achieve an image like this I will try and add them in Photoshop later. I could also try and manipulate some film to create a burn effect like this. On my next shoots I will try and photograph portraits in the wood with both digital and film. Some experimentation I can do with the film images is to try and burn them.

I love Caitlins use of black and white in these images because it makes all of the details stand out more in them like the treese and the leave. But I also like the soft sunset colours in on of the other images because it adds to the atmosphere of the forest and makes it seem quite magical. The use of the lens flares/lighting in the images also adds to it because it helps the image look more magic and makes it seem as if the model in the photos isnt alone in the forest.

When I use black and white in my images I plan to make it less strong and more grey like some of Caitlin Moltons images because it bring out more details of the model and also it makes the image look creepier.
