Shoot 4 Edits

I again tried editing this shoot in the style of Kyle Thompson but the images I did take where really dark but the fire in them stood out really well and looked good. Because of this I tried overlaying the fire in the image over the photos as a juxtaposition or in other photos to try and enhance the fire already in them. These edits incorperate images from shoot 4 and shoot 2. This is because they go really well together and work with eachother.

My fourth shoot was a bit of a failure as I could only take photos late at night so they all turned out overly dark and you couldnt see the model. One good thing that came out of it was that I was using fire on a slow shutter speed. At one point the fire started to get out of contol and my model tried to shake the stick it was on to put it out. Everything ended up fine but while she was shaking it I took a photo with slow shutter speed to create the fire effect you see placed over this image. I believe this worked out really well and the fire looks really good. It also doesnt look too unnatural placed over a different image. I dedicated my shoot 4 images to overlaying.

This is another image I overlayed and with this one is was just a piece of paper and I only managed to capture the flame. So i overlayed this flame over a image i put a red filter over as it fit in with the rest of the image well and slightly blends in naturally.

With the overlay on this image I feel like the line of fire contrasts and sticks out so much that it actually fits with the image and works. To edit this image to begin with I adjusted the lightnes and saturation to make the fire on the original image brighter. I experimented with moving the flame over the model and in the middle of the image but I feel like that took away from the image itself so In the end I just put the flame over the other stick on fire.

This was one of my favorite overlayed images because the line of fire comes off the lighter if you look closely. I also like how the flame goes from the bottom of the image to the top seemlessly as if I planned to have the flame go across the image when i took it.

With these next two overlays I tried to recreate a image by Caitlin Molton. To do this I overlayed a slow shutter speed image of some trees and a street light. This was an accidental image that I took just to see what setting where already on the camera. I first overlayed the image and I chose the Lighten overlay option. I then adjusted the levels of the image to make everything blend in better.

With this image I made the overlay brigher to see what the image would be like if it was more blunt. This time I flipped the overlayed image so that the trees and light would be on the bottom. Overall I dont think this worked as well as I wouldve wanted.

This was an experimental image that i edited putting two contrasting images together. It combines a close up of a burning book with a dark image of some trees. I dont think the image looks bad its that I dont really like it and I know I could take better photos when given a better day and time.
